Diagnoses
This job involves caring for a married couple aged 85 and 86 who live in a family house. The household consists of two individuals who require care and support. The elderly woman (85 years, 75 kg, 165 cm) is limited in mobility due to her age, multiple spinal fractures, and degenerative neurological limitations with impaired balance. She can still move around the house with a walker but needs guidance and support to prevent falls. She uses a wheelchair when necessary. She suffers from mild incontinence and uses incontinence aids. Assistance is needed when visiting the toilet. The caregiver's role with the elderly woman includes helping with dressing and undressing, personal hygiene, using the toilet, and providing support for safe standing and walking. She requires guidance and supervision during meals. Walks are taken together with the caregiver using a wheelchair. At night, assistance is needed—approximately twice per night she calls for help to use the commode chair. The elderly man (86 years, 80 kg, 180 cm) suffered a stroke in 2024. Since then, he has had difficulty finding words and has a limited left side of the body. Despite this, he is independent in most activities, goes to the toilet by himself, and does not require assistance with personal hygiene, dressing, or eating. He suffers from mild urinary incontinence and treats glaucoma with eye drops. Despite health limitations, he still drives a car independently. In daily life, he primarily needs companionship, motivation, and support during walks. The caregiver is responsible for routine household tasks such as cooking, shopping, cleaning, laundry, and household maintenance. Shopping can be done by car, bicycle, or on foot (approximately 1 km). Meals are prepared and eaten together. The caregiver primarily provides support to the elderly woman in daily life.

You don't pay our employment agency anything at all. We believe it is not right to charge people money in order to enable them to work, and so we offer assistance in finding job positions completely free of charge.
Most job positions in Germany are based on Slovak/Czech trade licenses, though employment contracts are possible with some families. In Switzerland, work is conducted under Swiss employment contracts.
A caregiving course is not required for families in Germany, but you need at least some experience of caring at home. In Switzerland, most families require a caregiving course.
Finding a family is an individual matter for every candidate, so there is no exact time frame for when we will find you a family that suits you both. In some cases we can arrange a job within a few hours, at other times the wait is a few days. For families in Switzerland, the wait can stretch to a month because of high demand. We place candidates fastest in the summer months, June – August, and more slowly from the end of January to the end of March.
If you wish, we will organise your transport. We have worked for many years with transport companies that our caregivers are happy to use again and again. You can of course choose another way of travelling that you prefer. The caregiver pays for the journey herself and the family contributes to it – €180 – 300 in Germany, CHF 380 – 400 in Switzerland, depending on the offer. If you do not have the cash to travel to Germany, we can pay the fare for you and deduct it from your pay afterwards.
In Germany a standard assignment lasts 4 – 6 weeks, in Switzerland 2 – 3 months. Replacement assignments are shorter.
In Germany the pay is up to €3 500 a month as a self-employed caregiver – the exact amount is stated in each offer. It depends on your German, the client’s state of health and whether you care for one person or a married couple. In Switzerland the pay is up to CHF 3 500 net a month on a Swiss employment contract.
In Germany, families most often require intermediate to good German; some are happy with basic German and/or want another language, such as Czech, Russian or Bulgarian. Families in Switzerland require good German, although a solid intermediate level is sometimes enough.
